A day in the life of a Kickstart Placement – Dylan

By 2 August 2021No Comments

We caught up with Dylan, whilst he was half way through his placement and it’s great to see how much he has thrived!”

My time at Alexanders Community Development so far: Since I first started here at Alexander Community Development, I have been learning new things every single day, skills to benefit me now and skills to benefit me in the future. I love the fact that when I come in to work in the morning I know that I am always going to be walking in to a friendly, safe environment and greeted with a friendly smile. The achievements I have accomplished so far by being a Trainee Trainer have been amazing, from delivering my own ice-breaker sessions to learning to develop and create sessions plans, also on top of this I have had a massive growth in confidence and the skills I’m learning are growing day by day. My job role as a trainer is to develop knowledge in delivering the Transition to Trade program to a variety of groups and this is something I have been striving towards day in day out. The guidance from Alexanders community development has been absolutely brilliant, showing me new ways to think about certain things and new ways to get jobs done more efficiently. Not only the guidance has been brilliant but also the feedback and support I receive on the job I am currently working on at the time has been amazing, having monthly supervision and support meetings with my manager Aled has been a great experience since I have never had this with any other work place. I always feel like if I am struggling with something or I want to put my ideas across that there is constant support not only from Aled but from anyone at Alexanders Community Development. Overall my time at Alexanders Community Development so far has been brilliant, the skills that I have learned so far have benefited me in so many ways and have given me the opportunity to excel going forward in the future. I have absolutely loved every second here since the first day I walked into the yard and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my time at ACD.”
