Alexander’s Community Development is twenty years in the making, and our aim is to provide an innovative community organisation which helps to increase the speed of Dundee’s growth and progression, which can benefit everyone who lives and works within our city. Our community focus looks to help some of Dundee’s most vulnerable and Dundee businesses and charities. We have two community branches – Food Distribution and Trades for All.
Our dedicated team currently works with 20 food banks throughout Dundee and we’re hoping to expand our reach across the city as we collect food and essential household items from local suppliers and store them at ACD. Additionally, we collect as much cardboard as we can and recycle it for these organisations.
Our Trades for All programme aims to provide Dundee’s first full scale multi-trade building service, within a community organisation. Driven forward by project leader, Bob Doig, we complete all kinds of trades work for private, public and commercial projects. Our priority with this company will always be to work primarily with the 3rd sector. We have hired two apprentices already, with the plan to have had 25 apprentices by 2025
