WHAT IS TRANSITION TO WORK?

Transition to Work is a pioneering employability programme, delivered to people who are looking to gain their first step or next step into industry. Focusing on the transition from education to work, our programme aims to fit the needs of industries by training people in a dynamic way. The programme will provide the opportunity to learn in a real life work environment, experiencing the realities of working life and gain industry recognised qualifications which make the candidates work ready at the end.

The first of 8 programmes to launch is Transition to Trade. To date, ACD has put over 200 people through this programme. Over the coming months, our next industry specific programmes will launch including Transition to: Social Care, Hospitality, Admin, Child Care, Beauty, Hairdressing, Digital.

SCHOOLS PROGRAMME

Our schools programme is available to pupils across the city and we have partnered with all secondary schools across Dundee and some school in Angus. We work with schools to ensure that those who will most benefit from the programme are put forward. There are multiple programmes delivered throughout the year, with a maximum of 12 pupils per cohort.

BESPOKE PROGRAMME

We create bespoke versions of our programmes, designed to fit your group of people. We typically deliver this version to people who are facing barriers gaining employment but are no longer in full-time education. Our hands-on training will give young people the opportunity to take their knowledge and learn how to carry it through into on site projects, whilst giving them hands-on work experience as the relevant qualifications to be site-ready.
